This is a really cool site.
I am new to this,if i bought a power wash macine from lowes 3400psi@3.2gpm and one of those x-jets along with a tarp to cover up plants would this work to start up with?
Would be looking at doing 1 to 3 one story ranch style homes a week.I would do the best job I could and wouldn't leave till the customer was happy.I plan on buying commercial grade cleaners.

Thanks Dan,I should have said I looked at the other things already. How do I know when it's time to jump up to the commercial washers?Would it be time if I was doing 1 house a day?

Depends on what your making. If you feel your starting to make good money go for it.

The main thing with a better washer is, you pay more but if maintained right. It will last a long time.

Anyone think he should have spent the extra $500 or so and went to the commerical level washer? I just started up and did not want to buy equip. twice so I went with a belt drive CAT pump, 4gmp, 3500 psi, 13 hp honda delivered for $1500. I am very happy thus far.

I agree that it's better to spend a little more money upfront to buy better quality equipment.

A honda engine, quality pump, pneumatic tires, and a well designed frame are all important features that add to the longevity of your machine.

The biggest differences I see between homeowner grade and commercial grade machines are.....
A quality engine....'read Honda'
A quality triplex pump...not an axial pump.
Pneumatic tires that absorb vibration, vs plastic wheels that transmit vibration to every component, eventually causing the machine to fall apart, and come unbolted.
A heavy duty frame with solid construction and good welds. A powder coated frame is also superior.
A gas tank large enough to provide extended run times.
A machine with at least 4gpm, the psi is less important.

Skimp in these areas, and you WILL be buying your equipment over again sooner than you'd expect.

Thanks alot guys,I will spend the extra 500-700 for a commercial grade unit.
This is why I asked before buying.
Would you buy from a local dealer or from a online store like delco?
