Advice Please

Can anyone offer advice on what equipment will be needed to efficiently clean storefront windows? I don't want to just "get by", but I also don't want to spend a couple hundred bucks for things I might only rarely use.

Also....any advice on getting accounts? Has anyone ever tried a "first cleaning fo free" tactic to make initial contact (maybe outside only), then when finished give them a price?

Just get the basic equipment and go and ask for the job

Some people have done some commercial Powerwashing accounts free initially to get there foot in the door to get the account. I have never done that but I have done free samples to possibly get a job.

As for Window cleaning I have done residential and commercial accounts over the years but as of now I don't do either since my business has taken a slightly different approach which doesn't include window cleaning.

As for the advice that your asking I would do what Dan Flynn stated above because thats the approach that I use to do also.

Thanks for the advice. I think at this point, I just need to "Keep it Simple". I tend to get caught up in the details of projects (perfectionist), instead of doing like Nike says. My plan is to get some regular income with some commercial accounts, while saving up to finance expansion into the Pressure Cleaning side of the business. At this point....all advice is appreciated.

Two sizes of squeegees (12" and 18" should suffice to start. A 18" window mop (also called a stripwasher), 6 gallon rectangular bucket, Ecover dishsoap (1/4 oz per gallon of water, blue surgical towels, and a short pole (telescoping to 12ft) should be a inexpensive kit to start.
