Nothing I can say to help you ,but treat it like a pool system... What color is the tank you have? I haven't had any trouble with mind yet... Had it now for three years.... Color is black and is 525 tanks... When buying this they said a black tank would prevent what you are going threw... Something to think about...Shock it like you would a pool.....

We've had the same problem withour 525 gal. tank (white) Been doing the same thing, cleaned it out and started treating it like a pool.and keeping our filter cleaned out regular. Just our two cents worth.

we have two 275 gal plastic tanks, we put about a half gal, bleach in each tank this kills all algae and bacteria, this works for us and is the cheapest method.

I add an additive to my boat's fresh water
tank every winter to prevent growth and to
stop freezing. Check with either a marine
outlet or an RV dealer.

We drop in the clorox tablets that you would use in the back of the toilet bowl reservoir. Works pretty well and is pretty economical. When they dissolve just drop in another.

The only problem I see treating it like a pool is Chlorine loves brass. It eats brass for breakfast. Most of the parts in your pump and unloader are brass. Too bad you can't rotate your water instead of keeping it in there. Just empty it and fill it every job or so.

Got to thinking about the chlorine and brass and you are so right. Thankfuly we do rotate our water by dumping and only hauling when necessary now. Thanks for the eye opener hotwaterwisard.
