Need to remove graffiti and apply a permanent anti graffiti coating. Can anyone suggest a product? Also, how much should I expect to pay and what is the square foot coverage?

Thanks . . . .

High Pressure,

Received information from "ABR" about graffiti removal and coatings.

check out www.abrp.com.

haven't used the products yet, has anyone else tried the "ABR" lines?

Good luck,

There are two major types of coatings permanent & sacrificial. Which one to use depends what your coating / cleaning. Main reason to coat is to make the cleaning easier (on the surface & on the person cleaning) & cheaper. The following is how I do it.
1.Brick / stone can be cleaned quite easy without damage to the surface and therefore I don't coat them
2.Painted surface (latex) paint it
3.Painted surface (oil based) can be cleaned usually, however depending on the sign I coat them. There are hundreds of coatings out there, and due to
the above analysis I primarily use sacrificial coatings.
Both types of coatings have there own pros / cons.
One of the biggest cons is every coating I have used / tested affects the color of surface applied to. I call it staining they call it enhancement.
I could write a book on this stuff, if you want give me a call and I'll tell you more info.

PS I don't sell any products on this board, I only give advice

Thanks for the advice.

I submitted my proposal for this job almost a year ago. I proposed the permanent or sacrifical and they chose the permanent. Obviously, they did a lot of thinking about this in a YEAR!

They will be going on monthly maintenance with us and I explained if we use the sacrifical it would have to be reapplied to those areas where graffiti is removed so I would have to charge more per month. They chose the permanent because the monthly maintenance is a little cheaper, although I'm charging more for the original application.

Now, my question is do you have any specific brands you can recommend. I originally proposed to use GraffitiBlok which I found on the internet but don't know much about it.

If you don't feel comfortable posting brand names here, please email me at highpressure@yahoo.com

Thanks!

As yet I don't use any permanent coatings. None I've found are worth putting my name on. Too many have failed in the past and cause big problems for several school districts and housing authority (I know of personally)Just not cost effective in my book. And the first thing the manufacturer does is go after the applicator if there is a problem.

Just make sure you read everything you can about the warranty info and protect yourself as much as you can in your contract.
