Application Question

Hi guys,

Which do you guys prefer when apply your sealers? Do you brush/roll the sealer or spray it on? What do you think are the best results?

Thanks in advance

We primarily use Wood Tux, which we apply by spraying initially, then back-brushing to insure even coverage. But with other stains, ie, Wood Defender or Ready Seal...spraying with a Deckster or Decker V is the best way to go :) We've tried padding but it seems that a good deal of product gets wasted in the pad.

For what it's worth we also offer a "hand rubbed" application for hardwoods like mahogany and ipe. You can imagine the labor cost applying sealer to the whole deck with rags. I actually had a customer take me up on it with a 2100 s.f. mahogany deck last year. It took four guys 12 hours to complete.
