I had a customer call me to clean her driveway , which was easy as its concrete, but her daughters car leaked Power Steering fluid on the street which is asphalt, and living in an association, her neighbors want it cleaned up. I tried just water and degreaser, but it didnt work too well. I know that its a pretty slim chance of cleaning it, but if there is a product out there I need it. I told her I was going to look here and see what everyone else thinks, and she is already calling nme to see if I have an answer. Thanks guys, I hope there is a solution as this street isnt due to be paved again for a few years as it was just done a year or so ago... Thanks again.....Mike

If the you got all of the free oils up and there are just stains don't sweat it. There is probably not enough to damage the asphalt and you will not be able to get up the stain, mainly because the asphalt and the power steering fluid have an affinity for each other. The good thing is that in about 3-4 weeks in will be totally absorbed into the asphalt and they will not be able to see it. The more you work at it the more it will be damaged.
I used todo work for a company cleaning up oil spills for garbage trucks. The same fluid on asphalt, and after three or four weeks I would go inspect it and there was only a stain if the garbage truck puddled the fluid on the pavement. Otherwise you could not tell. They just have to be patient.
