It has been suggested that I use hand cleaner ( gel used in the motor industry ) on the heavy oil patches - leave for 10-20 minutes and rinse with cold water - any other ideas ? 24 parking bays + - 3875 sq ft

You can use a degreaser on asphalt, they even make some especially for asphalt. The trick is to know how long to leave it on and what tip to use. Do not clean old or brittle
asphalt. DO NOT USE A 0 TIP OR CONCRETE MACHINE. Careful some cleaners will bleach out the asphalt if you leave it on too long or don't rinse it good. The idea of using a hand cleaner sounds good to me. We do a lot of parking lot, think I will try it next time. At least with the gel it will stay in one place and not spread everywhere like the liquid.

Try a soap chemical with Sodium Hidroxide in it. We clean entire asphault parking-lots all the time, works great for us! Soap it down spray off with Water-Broom.Or Dirt-Killer Turbo nozzle. Hope this helps you. Rick....R&R.....
