Looking for a new washer. I am a General Contractor and only use it a few times a year on just some jobs to cleanup or a finishing touch. Sometimes whole house or just a driveway or a addition. Also use more often for washing trucks.
Looking for 1. portability and 2. power. Been using a 6.5 h.p unit but time to replace. Looking at going to a 9 h.p 3/3200 unit or 13 h.p. 3.5/4000 unit.
Also are Cat pumps worth the extra cost.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Cat pumps are good but not always worth the extra cost. A machine that should last you a long time would be a 13hp Honda and a 4.0gpm/3500psi general pump. More gpm is better for rinsing etc..

Cat earned their name in the car wash industry and industrial applications, then they got into making pumps to compete with every one else, selling portable pressure washers in the retail stores. these pumps are not that great in my opinion, parts for cat pumps are usualy higher than the others. i've had more cat pumps come through my shop with crankcase problems than any other brand and when you have crank case
failures, i usually replace the pump. I've worked on them all and i prefer general, but everyone has their own opinion.
