I am trying to bid a church and need some assistance. All they want is the trim washed which is wood painted white. the dimensions are 200' long x 90' wide. the trim is about 2 1/2' wide. it has a lot of mold and mildew on it. I will probably have to use a lift to get to it also.
this is my 2nd post and have not gotten a response from the 1st one yet. could someone please help. thanks

even if you do just the trim you would still need to rinse.

Time & materials.

If you are uncertain of what it is going to
take you might try bidding it at time & materials. [hello]

i get those calls all the time, " i just need the eaves and trim washed"... everything you wash off the eaves etc will be on everything below it, so you will essentialy be washing the whole building. even brick and other sidings get dirty too, its just when the black and green start showing on the white is when folks decide to wash.

I agree with Jeff. You are supposed to be the cleaning professional, don't let the customer dictate to you what needs to be cleaned.

To give you an example, I recently gave a customer a quote for a small brick/vinyl ranch. The vinyl was really moldy and almost every square inch of brick was too...on all 4 sides of the house. (Lots of trees.) The customer calls back and says to do the work, but don't clean the brick. I said either I do the whole house, or I don't do it at all. Mind you, they weren't asking for a discount, they just didn't think that the brick needed cleaning, or maybe that I would damage it somehow. I explained that my companies reputation is too important than to let their neighbors see that we do half*** work. The customer was shocked, but called me back a few days later and gave me the OK to do the work. Obviously, they are now very happy that they did.

I like that. I have been trying to figure out a way to explain just that! Many thanks for sharing.
