I'm sure they will have advertisers. That's the only way any magazine can make it. At least I hope they do. That will provide more funds to improve the magazine and compensate the company for their efforts. It also gives it's viewer the opportunity to find new products and companies. In return for the advertising dollar. I agree that some magazines go way to far. I get a computer mag that has more advertising than content. That's ridiculous.
If you want good content somebody has to pay for it. What I like about this magazine, from what I know so far. They really are interested at getting the contractors involved. If you have ideas or would like to right articles. Chance are you will see it in the magazine.
I hope to get in as much as I can. I think it will do two things. Hopefully provide some interesting content and it will put me in a industry magazine. That would be pretty cool to show my customers. I think for my time to come up with something to share in the magazine. I will be rewarded in a few ways.
1. I get published
2. I will use it in my sale pitch, hopefully giving me an edge over my competition.
3. I will have a hand in helping out our industry
Anyway I am excited. I never had a chance to get involved with a publication. I think that Blast Master is going to make that happen for anyone that is interested. Also you don't need to be a writer. Do the best you can and the editor can straighten everything out. The main thing, you have a great chance to get your ideas out there.
I am going to give it a try for sure. So I really hope they can get the support of advertisers, which isn't an easy thing to do. It would be a win win situation for everyone. If you never tried to write an article, give it a try. I know Jon and Scott have done it for Cleaner Times. From what I understand This magazine really wants to do a lot of this. So give it a try and let their english teacher figure out how to make it look good.
