What is a chicken ladder? I used to use a ladder that had a curl hook at it's top. You would carry the ladder to the ridge and lay it down, with the hook grasping the ridge. Then you could walk up and down the ladder. You would simply move the ladder as you moved along. Great for steep roofs, but a bit cumbersome getting it up your ladder and up to the ridge.
