I HAVE NOT DONE ANY ALUM SIDING HOUSES B/C I AM NOT CONFIDENT, I HAVE HEARD HORROR STORIES ABOUT DOING THEM. I WAS TOLD THAT ALUM HOUSES SCAR EASIER THEN VINYL. MY NEIGHBOR'S ALUM SIDING IF YOU PUT YOUR HAND ON IT THERE IS A POWDERED RESIDUE THAT COMES ONTO YOU HANDS.

I KNOW IF I DON'T DO THEM I AM LOSING OUT.

I WAS READING BOOKS THAT YOU ARE supposed TO USE AN ALUMINUM BRIGHTENER FOLLOWED BUY AN ALKALINE SOAP, AND 1 BOOK SAID JUST USE A REGULAR HOUSE WASH.

DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY INPUT WHAT THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN THIS TYPE OF SIDING

I use aluminum brightener and alkaline but the most important thing is keeping a even pattener as not to leave wand marks.Usually it will take longer when washing faded alumium siding as to keeping the wand at the same distance from the surface, depends on how faded it is and what color it is.In some cases you do not want to remove all the powered residue,depends...

Use the search function of this board, plugging in the keywords
"aluminum siding", and select the option to search titles only.

There is already a plethora of information available.

On alluminum siding we just do a strait chemical wash with bleach to remove the mildew. I never use pressure on it just good chemicals. We normally use something called 396 and add bleach to it. No matter what you use, just pretest an area, don't let your chemicals dry on it and don't hit it with pressure an you will be fine.

That i think is powder coat.

I think that res. is powder coating.

And there is no way of fixing it unless you repaint it.
Yea you can clean it but you will still have paint comming off.
