Any tips on doing this? My neighbor wants theirs done and I havn't done one before. Whats the best method? chemicals, I dont want anything dangerous falling into the pool. They are older so they don't swim much, but I dont want to mess up the ph since they do have grandkids that come over sometimes. any thoughts would be great. thanks.

I do em all the time. I use a typical house wash with chlorine. I use my x-jet rip off for the high stuff, and use low pressure to rinse. The trick is dwell time.If they are green with mildew or algae, then I use a milder mixture of soap/chlorine. I put the chem on, let it dwell for several minutes, then rinse...redo as needed. They clean up like new.

Dont use high pressure or you'll blow the screen out. You can rinse the crap outta the screen just not too close.

You are in for a treat. so are you neighbors. If you have any more ?'s...lemme know.

Last one I did, I just used pool chlorine down streamed like I do houses....

You shouldn’t have a problem "blowing out screens" unless they are damaged, inspect first... .. ..

Too much pressure and you can cut the screen though, and that is not good...

oh yea, on the deck (floor whatever...assuming in ground) try to blow the run off of dirty water away from the pool, some will get in there, but that’s par for the course

Have fun, don’t wear a cell phone just in case you do fall into the water on a hot day...

Thanks guys. I figured high pressure wasn't the way to go. I need to pick up an x-jet. havn't had a use for one but now I will. What do you generally charge for a pool screan cleaning? i havn't seen any price giuds on them. I would say it's on the larger side. Thanks again for all your help.

That is a tough one. Mine range from 125 to 225 but I have it down to an art.

One major concern; chlorine will drip from the cage and into your eyes...you will also be breathing it...so take appropriate action. PPE!

We usually either use a x-jet or downstreamer. We also use pool chlorine, which is usually already present in the pool anyway. The added amount that ends up in the pool is negligible.....It will make no difference. Be careful where the seams are between the screen and the frame. It's easy to blow out the screen there, especially if the screens are older and somewhat dried out or brittle.
