Hey i got a question for you guys what do you think about me combing my two businesses Yard Smart Land Care & Landscaping and then of course Scrappy's Power Washing under one name . . . .The Exterior Experts i was thinking that this would keep my customer base closer together and really save me money on advertising only having to ad one company instead of two ?????

Scrappy,

I think the name "The Exterior Experts" sounds
more professional than Scrappy's Power Wash.

IMHO

i have talked to him about it and he said any time i'm ready he would be willing to sell his half. .. see its kinda difficult to explain but i'll try to give you guys a little better understanding. . .

last august this guy (johnny my partner) met at the gas station i work at part time and we began to talk about how jeremy was the only power washing company in carrollton and one of the major companies in the area and i informed him that i used to work for jeremy and i was thinking about starting my own power washing business and he said his son montey had a power washing company but got busted running and selling . . .now this is where it get interesting. . .cocaine from mexico to chicago for one of the big itallian mafias . . .i know crazy right i swear its the truth . .. so he had this rig just sitting at his house so really he doesn't care how busy we are he told me as long as we do enough work to cover expenses it all profit to him because it wasn't making him any money sitting at his house so buying it wouldn't be that big of a deal

If you can afford to, then I would first buy out the partner, so everything is yours and you make all the choices.
Then come up with whatever name suits you, and make sure it is not already taken in area nearby.
Get all your pictures in order and wording straight, then visit a local printer to make it all happen. You can buy a sweeper truck next.

ha ha very funny lol but i was thinking about doing away with the trailers and just going to a box truck set up for every thing . . . i figure easier storage adn looks more profesional but i dunno . . . i am also gonna wait till the end of the year to buy the company since we have only been in biz since last august i really don't know how its gonna work out. . .i was at the gym the other day and some lady i have never saw was talking to me and said oh by the way aren't you DJ i heard you do really good work . . . man i was on cloud nine . . .the money is great but when you hear some one say something like that it just makes you feel like a good person lol . . . well thanks for the input man [wsmile]

Drop the partner, create a new buisiness name and marketing schedule. Roll 30% of cash flow back into buisiness and grow for the next 5 years. Ever think about an all in one company. Don't be affraid to sub out work and make money.

wat do u mean all in one company? and about buying him out . . he is starting to act a little shady about it like he is starting to want to take the chem off the top and stuff instead of off his cut like we had agreed on . . . .so i dunno how its gonna go and i do agree i need to drop the partner cause writing 300 dollar quotes and only getting 150 of it is getting old real quick . . . but i am thinking about doing roofs this year . . and if i buy the equipment i don't think its right that i have to split it with him do you guys?

Hey DJ. Think what everyone has said is good advice, Is your agreement with the other guy a verbal or contract? Also how much money are you talking to buy him out? Sounds like your doing all the work and handing money over. Sounds like from the email you sent me you would like to expand Get rid of the dead weight... Get a good business plan put together and go for it. As i said before if you need help with anything feel free to email us, Will try and help anyway we can, Tom

no it is just a verbal agreement and thats what is starting to scare me lol. . . i realize i am only 19 and still in school but if i'm going to do something i don't want to half a** it. . .i look at it this way if i'm going to run a company i'm not gonna **** around (parden the language) and just let it ride i wanna get out there put my work in and make some cash.. . thats what its all about right? i see it happening that if i do this thing as a part time type of deal it may hurt me in the long run i.e. when i get out of school . . . Johnny has said that if i wanted to but the equipment i could by it out for around how much its worth but its an older p.w. and the trailer isn't in the best shape so i was thinking about buying my own but i can't stay in carrollton tell johny i don't wanna work with him any more and then go get my own i can't do that to him. he helped me get into it but now its like he pays for the chem and i'm stuck doing 100% of the work for 50% of the pay . . . i dunno i'm egar to see how it goes this summer
