I looked at a house today and lady asked me if i wash windows.I said no but i rinse them and so on.But actually she was worried about me fogging the windows. She said well good, them you dont have to worry about them at all, basically she was happy that i dont.
This lady told me she has double insulated windows and two of them are fogged up on the inside already, and no way to get that out.She has never had her house washed before but told me pressure could cause that,i kind of agreed since i wasnt sure, but also explained i must rinse them a little not to let the soap dry on them.
So what shoud i do? I dont want unhappy costumer with fogged windows. Will light rinse really do this??I have actually noticed this before but nobody complained, maybe they didnt have double windows, who knows.
I use limonene and that stuff is not good for windows.Should i just use bleach and lightly mist them, what happens when bleach dries on windows??
Thanks a lot for any help,
Johny

Hello, having been in the glass biz for a few years I know exactly what you are talking about. They are called Thermopane windows, they are 2 pieces of glass with a thin metal divider between them that have had all of the air sucked out from between them and then the edges sealed with a silicone. One little pinhole anywhere around that seal can cause the fogging. definitely tell her to contact the manufacturer or installers if they are not too old. Washing the windows shouldnt affect them. If they get wet durin rain anyway I wouldnt sweat it. Just dont bare down on them too much. Good luck.....Mike

Johny,

Use a 40 degree tip for some extra security, and do not use much pressure around the windows.

Use whatever cleaners you always do, but add a few squirts of "Pure Rinse" Liquid Cascade dishwasher soap to your mixture, that should prevent the cleaners from streaking on the glass.

Nothing you do should cause the windows to "fog" up.........is just a defective/old window.......

Good luck.

Thanks guys,i just didnt feel confident about this, but you both are right,if rain hits it,unless they are defective they should be fine.I like to use my dual wand on houses with lots of windows,so i can turn the pressure down.
Thans,Johny
