hello,I live in a small crappy community and our water supply is one of the worst u will find,in order to keep my unit in top condition i had thought about running some CLR cleaner into the intake hose and allowing it to soak for a hour or so to get rid on any hard water, rust,or calcium build up,but will this damage anything in the process? I own a 350 gal tank oin wheels with a 13 horse Honda and Im not sure what the compressor is.thanks

Have never heard of running CLR through a "pump" is what I guess you mean, instead of compressor....maybe MArk will chime in and give you some advice.

Terry,

I am not familiar with CLR as I have never used it.

I would consider a water conditioner to condition the water going
in to your tank.

There are many options there, from water softeners that use salt,
to harmonic water conditioners etc.

The Hard Water Wizard is a good one we have sold for years.

Another proven product is offered by Scaltrol : SCALTROL SC-100

We also offer a generic product that has a lower cost than the Scaltrol version.

CLR isn't a great option. It's a combination of mild acids that may or may not etch the metals, rubber, or ceramic. I use Evapo-Rust for my pump, my tools, my guns...pretty much anything. It's acid free. Just cycle it through the pump for about 15 mins, then flush with water. You can re-use it too, so reclaim it and toss it on a shelf.

You can find a number of brick and mortar vendors at their website, or you can order from them directly. Either way, you're looking at about $30/gal.
