I was wondering if you are working on a customers house and you are using their water. Do any of you guys take that off of the bill? Thanks in advance. Also i am new to the board and the business but have been reading for a few weeks now. Great info everyone!

Use their water and explain to them you would charge a higher fee if you had to haul water to them. Another technique is to tell them the job can't be done with one tank of water and you would have to charge them an hourly fee to haul another tank, making the price higher.

No.....You're cleaning their property, not yours. Some contractors will state in their estimate that the home owner/property mgr. is responsible for supplying water unless otherwise noted.

thanks for all of your input. I asked that because i was thinking of taking off $10-$15 for water useage off the bill but actually make the prices $10-$15 higher so i wouldn't lose any money. I just thought it might surprise the customer like "wow he even paid for the use of my water" But i guess nobody does this. thanks for the advise. [spin]
