Deck Washing

Is there a "best" method for deck washing? I'm advertising it, but I really haven't done it before. Special detergents, or just a more diluted mixture? Lower pressure?
Any no-no's? Certainly don't want to buy any decks that I'm not going to use, know what I mean?

There is an across the board preferred method for washing decks.
I'm advertising it, but I really haven't done it before.
Don't practice on a customer's deck - practice on your own or find someone that will let you go along with them to learn. There is more involved than you might think.
Special detergents - YES , or just a more diluted mixture? POSSIBLY
Lower pressure? ABSOLUTELY!!!!!
Any no-no's? NO HIGH PRESSURE & NO HOT WATER - Know your chemicals and what they require - dwell time, will they need to be neutralized?

Certainly don't want to buy any decks that I'm not going to use, know what I mean?

The above is not even the tip of the iceberg......wood care is as specialized as any other cleaning area. It takes research and practice - if you've advertised it, I'd suggest getting on with the practice program - there are also several training facilities available.

Good luck :)

When it come to restoring wood of any kind, it's best to know what you are doing to a degree. Because you will always learn someting new each time you clean, strip, and stain wood. You could call another contractor and go with them and learn the basics(Labor for learning). You can give me a call and we can talk about it.
