Deep freeze winterizing

Very rare but we are down to 27 degrees this morning and will be a bit colder tonight (Friday). Spent the time last night and ran anti freeze through all of our pumps, coils and jumper lines. Have been told window washer fluid with alcohol will serve the same protection (and is probably cheaper than what I spent on the 10 gallons of anti freeze).

Your feedback and advice is appreciated and, as always, respected.

We have both enclosed and open trailers. Thought about placing a space heater in the enclosed trailer, but not big on leaving a space heater unattended, especially around fuel and gasoline tanks.

I use RV anti freeze. I thougt you had an enclosed trailer?? You could blow it out with air

I have a propane heater in my cargo trailer, 18,000 BTUs. It seems to be keep my trailer from freezing. the only problem, it is not vented, so lots of moisture accumulates. When I did all of the hoods, I just blew out or drained the PW, and the hoses. Now, it is cheaper to buy propane.

It gets below zero here in Illinois quite a few times each winter.

We store our trucks inside an insulated steel building. This building has a 5" concrete floor and insulation on the walls and roof.

We have 16,000 Btu LP heaters in the back of each truck. So far this year the ground temperature is still around 40 degrees so we have not had to use the heaters very much.

We also have electric radiator heaters that we use from time to time.

Thanks guys,

This unit has served us very well over the years. The picture is the back of our White truck.

Yes we have a manhole through the roof so we can fill the tank. The fill station where this picture was taken delivers water at about 200 gpm.

If you look at the second picture in my other post you can see the manhole for filling the tank and the cover for the opening for the man to get through and on to the top of the roof.
