dilution ratio

Could someone explain to me how I go about break down my chemicals? For example, If the product label says 50:1 ratio, how do I go about doing that and where do store the product after it is properly mixed? Does it go in a separate tank on my rig? Thanks in advance.

Troy I wouldn't take that 50:1 ratio to heart unless you are doing fleet work with HF acid. Most chems are way to weak to use that little.

You determine your ratio by your method of application. If you are applying direct you mix 50 parts water to one part chem in your bucket/tank. If you are using an X-Jet that dilutes 2:1 (its a bit higher than that but for simplistic purposes, we'll use that) you need to start with a solution that is twice as strong for the same end ratio of 50:1. So you would mix your chemical 25:1 in the bucket/tank and then the X-Jet would dilute that again by half. If you are downstreaming at 5:1 you need to start with a ratio that is five times as strong so that you again end up with the same end dilutiopn of 50:1. In this instance your initial mix would be 10:1 then the downstreamer would cut it with 5 more parts (times) water.

So what you are saying to me is if I have a 5 gal. container of chemical and Im using one chemical injector for one machine, 250 gal. of water would be an adequate mixture? Could I use 2 injector hoses for 2 p/w and get the same mix? Thanks in advance
