Does Size Matter?

I Recently Cleaned A Good Bit Of Concrete And Wondered If A Bigger Scrubber Would Really Work As Good As The One I Have. So I Went Out And Bought One, The Biggest I Could Find Anyway (36"). I Have Tested It AT The House And Seems To Work Just Fine. I Run A 4.8 @ 3000 (51G) And A 4.5 @ 3500 (45G) . I Am Putting Together A 18 Honda W/59g1 Cat. This Will Give Me 5.5 @ 3500 And More Fuel Capacity. I Think This Will Push My New Scrubber Even Better With The Added Flow. Has Anyone Put This 36" Maxima To The Test? I WILL BE WORKING IT TOMORROW AND THEN I WILL REALLY KNOW.

Tim,

I beleive you'll be able to put out fires with that surface cleaner too! How many nozzles does it use? I would imagine if it's two, you will have to walk slower? Let us know what you think of it. I may have to upgrade.

5.5 or larger is fine, but 8 or higher would be optimum for maximum benefit. They're nice but restrictive in a lot of residential situations.

8+ gpm with hot water and you can haul in some serious dough per hour.

Cat Makes A 7gpm @ 3000 Belt Drive, It Seems Like 3000 Is Enough Pressure And The 7gpms Would Be Nice. I Will Use This Scrubber On Large Residential And Commercial Concrete. I Use A 6gpm Softwash Pump In Conjunction With A Pressure Washer When Possible. Raising The Washer Gpms May Exhaust A Residential Water Supply And I Dont Like To Wait On Water. My Rig Has Limited (no) Room For Another Tank. I Am Going To Spend Almost 3k On This Washer And I Would Like To Use It All The Time, Not Having To Fill The Tank Every 2.5hrs Will Be Nice. I Will Run The Fuel Directly Off My Trucks Tank. Hopefully The 5.5GPM Will Be Sufficient. I Will Find Out In The Next Couple Of Days How She Does On 4.8 @ 3000. I Will Let Ya'll Know How It Goes In Several Different Applications.

Nozzles

Micah,
This Unit Has Just 2 Tips And Spins Pretty Good Considering The Massive Size Of It. They Put 40 Degree Tips In It So It Cleans All The Way To Edge. Even If I Have To Go Slower I Am Still Cleaning A Path Twice As Wide As My Classic. The Thing Looks Like An Old Satellite Dish With Wheels On It. I Have Been Using My Classic For A Couple Of Years And It Works Great When The Tips Are In Good Shape. Hopfully I Will Have The Same Luck With This "freak" Of A Scrubber.[/img]

Yea Tim You Almost Need A Bigger Truck To Tote The Thing

I'M TRYING TO KEEP THIS SET UP GOING AS LONG AS I CAN. THERE ARE SOME JOBS WHERE WE JUST NEED MORE EQUIPMENT. I HAVE ANOTHER RANGER AND I AM THINKING ABOUT PUTTING A FLATBED ON IT ALSO. IT IS GETTING HARD TO KEEP UP WITH THE WORK COMMING IN THESE DAYS.[/IMG]

Scrubber Test

All I Can Say Is "WHAT THE ______ TOOK ME SO LONG TO BUY THIS THING"! I Ran Both Scrubbers On My 4.5/3500 And I Think I May Have Went Faster Using The 36" Because Of The Wheels. There Wasn't Any Difference In It's Cleaning Ability Either, My Partner Said He Thought It Cleaned Better And With Less Fatigue. I Was Thinking, Along With Most Everybody Else, That I Would Need More Flow. I Am Still Buying A Bigger Washer, But I Really Don't Need The Extra Flow. I Do Think The Extra Gpm Will Make This Perform Even Better.

You Do The Math ------- Time=$$$$$

i've never done it, but if you hook two machines to one unloader you will double your gallons per minute and pressure stays at what ever the unloader is set at. of course you do have to have an unloader that will handle the GPM. i have a 36" turbo twister with an engine to propell the spray bar, it is a monster to handle, so i only unload it on large jobs, my 24" gets used the most, i had a 30" stolen and need to replace it, so i may go with the maxima 36 to replace the 30", where did you get it? I'm also a supplier, but none of my sources have this one in stock for me to demo. is it made by whisper wash??

thanks, jeff

Jeff,

I can hook you up with the Whisper Wash, Steel Eagle,
Hydro Tek, or Mosmatic surface cleaner. Let me know
if I can be of assistance. [hello]

Hydro Tek recently introduced a 38" Hydro Twister!

I BOUGHT THIS LOCALLY (TALLAHASSEE). YES, IT IS A WHISPER WASH "MAXIMA-36" . TRY SPRAYMALL.COM OR WATERCANNON.COM, I PAID RIGHT AT A GRAND FOR THIS ONE. WE HAVE USED IT A BUNCH SINCE MY THREAD AND WE CANT HELP BUT LAUGH EVERYTIME WE DO. I AM STILL LOOKING FOR A HIGHER GPM WASHER (7-8 @ 3500) TO MAKE MY CONCRETE CLEANING EVEN MORE REWARDING. I HAVE HEARD THAT CAT PUMPS IN THIS RANGE HAVE ISSUES. I NEVER KNEW HOW MUCH CHEAPER OTHER PUMPS WERE PRICED.
