I was tring to see what my draw rate on my injector was.. when
I dicovered my injector on my machine was hardly pulling any chemical
through my soap nozzle( would have taken a few minutes to pull 1 gallon)
How often do you have to service or even replace these injectors?
also do you have to replace the filter on the end of the drop tube?
This is still new to me- so any advice on how to keep it working properly
or what the best type injector would be for my machine 3500psi 4 gpm
would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

If the screens are out it need to be replaced (filter). Yes the downstreamers go bad some can be rebuilt. From what I hear is they last 6months to a year.

Injector problems

The oriffice in the injector can wear out just like a nozzle can from water and chemicals going through it.

We use PA all stainless steel injectors with oriffices that can be changed out and check balls and springs can be changed too.

It depends on how many hours you run your machine and the amount of water going through it to determine the life of the injector. Ours last about three weeks because our machines are constantly running. I change them out and rebuild them before they wear out and never have field problems.

Another thing that may be causing your problem of low draw rate is an extension wand or dual nozzle head.

If you are using a long wand with a 1/4 inch hose your flow rate is less than a 3/8 hose and this greatly affects your draw rate.

We use custom made wands that have 5/16 poly hose in them. They are super light weight and can be used all day long without the operator getting tired and you don't need a waist belt or shoulder strap.

The dual nozzle problem is caused by the hole in the nozzle being too small and restricting flow. Don't use Suttner ST56 model they have too small of a hole. Use a PA model dual nozzle, it has a 7/32 hole and allows more water through the nozzle.

To test if this is your problem put a #20 soap nozzle directly in the end of your gun and check the injector. If youhave good suction the injector is ok. If not change it out and test it again. Try it with the dual nozzle and see if you lose draw and then try it with your long wand and see what kind of draw you have then.

Use the process of elimination to determine what is wrong.
