Extractors or dry-chem?

I've been using "steam" spray/extractors for a few years; how about you guys? The "new guys" in town seem to be doing pretty well with other types. Ever try M-1 on carpet?

Howdy!
In order to answer your question I need to know a little bit more about what you are trying to accomplish with the cleaning.

We first need to establish what field of cleaning you are doing Commercial or residential.

If you are doing commercial work and need to keep apperances at an acceptable level throughout the year you would need to use a combination of cleaning systems and continued maintenance.

While in the residential market you are basically cleaning when the carpet is so soiled that they can't stand it or company is coming etc. For this I reccommend a Truck or van mounted hot water unit for a couple of reasons.
1. It is the only recommended type of cleaning by carpet manufacturers.
2. If you don't get your carpets cleaned within the first 18 months of owning it it may void the warranty.
3. It rinses the carpet and removes as much of the water as possible after cleaning. (Dry foam leaves a dirty residue in the carpet that you need to extract out at least 1 time every two years.)

On the whole I would recommend a truck mounted unit with a properly trained tech above any other system out there.

I hope this helped in some way.
