Fuel Solenoid

I had a fuel solenoid to my burner go out on a brand new Tuff skid unit. After argueing with the company about sending me new one. They agreed to send me a new one ( suntec 079064 part#). After trying to put it on it seems to be the wrong one. They tell me that the paperwork says this is the correct part. When I unhooked the fuel lines and everything in that area it seems the top part which has the plug is right but the bottom part to the new one is way too small. I am not happy with the support I have recieved from this company and am considering posting the remarks made from the owner I recieved by e-mail. Any help would be appreciated thanks....

First off, are you sure the old one is bad? How did you check it? Is it 12v or 120v? Alot of times the solnoid is not bad. It just seams to be the thing that is not working. There are usually other components in the circuit that control the fuel solnoid that go bad and don't supply the power to the solnoid and you think it is the bad part when it isn't.

Thanks for the response, We checked the voltage to the Solenoid and its good, When we unhooked the fuel line and ran the machine, pulled the trigger and no fuel. The first time we checked it there was no fuel, then all the sudden there was and when we hooked it up it worked for about two minutes, then quit again. Then checked again and nothing!

Clean out the fuel filter inside of the fuel pump. Take the 4 screws out clean the screen inside and put it back together. Thenuse the zirk fitting on the side of the pump to get the air out.

Sometimes the flow switch or pressure switch is the cause of this problem. Fuel flowing for two min tells me the solnoid is probobly good. You must find the device or devices that control the solnoid and you will find the problem.

Ok when I first got the new washer, I used the burner to wash my drive (about 20 min). Then it quit and would not fire. So we checked the battery, it was fine. Then we checked the ignition, it was fine. Then we checked the voltage to the solenoid and it was fine. So then we unhooked the fuel line and nothing came out. Then for some odd reason out of no where fuel shot out everywhere. So we put everything back together. and it worked like I said for a couple minutes then quit. We checked the fuel line again and have never got any fuel to flow again.

I just wanted to explain it a little more thoughly incase I confused you. I will check it like you said. And Once again I appreciate your effort to help. thanx

Sometimes the lines get air in them and you have to prime the fuel pump. It is easy to do. Just open the Zirk fitting on the side of the fuel pump and bleed out the air then close it again.

Ok Wizzo, Finally got the problem pinpointed. The spool valve on the solenoid was stuck. also the fuel pump was leaking like a sive out the shaft seal. and so was pressure release valve. Remember, this was brand new when all this started. After talking back and forth with three or four different people from the company I purchased from. They call and leave a message saying I will have to purchase a new one, then they will repair my old. Not re-embursing me! I know I should have a spare on hand, but at the time cannot fork out $107.
So, we took the pump apart and removed the seal. It looked fine and cannot really see why it would have been leaking so bad. But I contacted a bearing co. and they said they might be able to reproduce the part. Just wondered if you have any knowledge on this?
If anyone is looking to purchase a unit and is worried about anything going wrong and being stuck on your own, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DON"T BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!! I am all up for learning my machine, But this was BRAND NEW!

Had one do the same thing the other day leaked out the front seal and got fuel all over the floor. It was a brand new one out of the box. I thenk The seal gets stuck to the shaft from sitting on the shelf and when you turn the fan it messes up the little seal. At any rate it should be covered under warrantee for one year. You may be able to send it to Suntek and get a new one back.

I'll look and see if I can find their number, but if you have it could you post it. Thanks

Oh yea, The fuel solenoid body part of it was completely wrong that they sent me. I believe it could be made to work. But I shouldn't have to rig it up. Well hopefully I can get everything working and I can quit my bitching.....
