Increased production in Venezuela despite the strike, warmer weather in the East and seasonal reductions in the demand for crude oil should keep prices steady in coming weeks, The national weighted average price of gasoline, including taxes, at self-serve pumps Friday was about $1.60 per gallon for regular, $1.69 for mid-grade and $1.78 for High Test.

too bad a cant burn SNOW!!

Mike you just made my day, I thought 13 mpg sucked since the Dodge Cummins got 17 plus.

Now I feel great, I think I will go fill up with the $1.69 per gallon diesel and go for a drive!

Oh wait it is raining and Veges is 3 weeks away, best I hold off wasting fuel.

I just paid $1.73 yesterday. We have the 2nd highest gas prices in Forida, and our idiot county comission just passed an additional 5 cent gas tax. Sounds like gas is finally cheaper in CA than it is here....sigh

You know Dan you could have talked about something else besides #%#%%# fuel prices.

I filled both tanks on the diesel Monday, its one of my play trucks,as I was pumping I was looking up at dat #%#%#%#% price.I do not mind spending alittle more on my play trucks, I knew I had 6 tractors to wash Tuesday plus.SO,today 4 of them there tractors was greaseZ greaseZ,I could hear dat high price #%#@%#%# fuel as my wand hissed away at dat grease.

Everything I have to wash is dirty dirty, they have been running in the snow and up and down muddy roads,we still have snow on the ground. Its be so long since I've worked I don't even want to work.

I sold one of my rigs Sunday to the 1 and half year old newbee,he called tonigth and ask if I'd seen the #%#%#% fuel prices. He ask about how much diesel it would use washing a grain hauler rig around here.1 1/4 to 2 gals and what was for useing only with soap, cold water rinse. These rigs takes on a average 1 1/2 gal of diesel, price is 1.67 gal here.

My prices are ok,I'm only a dallor a hour under what I should be,not 10 to 20 like the newbee. He's out of business and knows it if he doesn't go up and he may be out of business if he does, thats what he told me.I said I've told you to go up 1 1/2 years ago,did you think I didn't know what I was talking about.........use the fuel prices and go up now.He barrowed the money to buy my rig and I told him I would buy it back for 1/2 price (j/K),full price if he wanted....1500.00 not a bad price huh.

I may have to learn how to wash with COLD water and o my gosh a brush.

WOW Diesel prices jumped .10 to $175.9 as of yesterday, how much higher are they going to go before they stop robbing us.

No way has the cost increased .40 per gallon in 2 weeks, they are just taking advantage of things.

Anyone else have big jump in price in a day or two?

Hey Jon,

I feel your pain buddy. I too have diesel as well. So much for the savings over gasoline. Which is one of the reasons why I originally bought a diesel. I understand prices are going to go up even more.

Danny boy you rig that horse and buggy and I can assure you we will have more PWers lining the highway clapping for you then you would believe.

Now fire up your rig and watch that horse take off down yonder!

Rick Diesel has or had two advantages so one is still there very low maintance.

My old Dodge only had the valves adjusted 2 times in 5 years and over 117,000 so compare that to how many tune ups for a gas engine.

I still say we are all getting ripped off.

How much higher you think it will go Dan S.?

I have seen several that converted to Propane, wonder how much less that cost and what if any gain or lost in HP and torque?

Gas here in the St Louis area is now 179.9. The big co's are really getting into the gouging. So the new channels say.

I can pay for a lot of tune ups for the over $4500 you paid for your diesel option, Jon!

As far as advantages, don't forget about longevity, resale value, torque, and the satisfaction of driving a vehicle that sounds like a school bus. :)

Mike is not your Ford a diesel?

I could have kept the Dodge but had to many near misses with the bad braking system, Dodge replaced them 5 times, twice in less the a year, totally, drums and all and still could not fix the problem or I still would be driving it.

As for sounding like a school bus, far from it, in fact the Dodge was much noisier then the Ford is. Ok so the Dodge was not stock, 4 inch exhaust and many other things.

Besides WHAT NOISE you talking about? LOL

Iam 43 , and i recall the gas wars of 1963 , 64 , 65 , well not sure of the year , but gas was .15 to .17 cents per gallon of course every one in TEXAS HAD THERE ON OIL WELL. lol...........just kidding.

and you could buy just about any car or truck for under $3,000.

What would you charge for pressure washing back in 64 or 65 ?
$10 to $12.50 per hr. What do uall thank?

If you'er charging $60 per hr now , incress you price to $62.50 would cover the cost of fuel, right or worng?

Gas is still around $1.75 here, but on my way to Atlanta yesterday, I saw gas as cheap as $1.35 in GA.

The question is whether we're getting ripped off...Who determines at what level we're getting ripped off? how much profit for the oil companies is enough, and who determines that? The only problem I'd have it with price fixing. The higher prices go, the more public sentiment will turn towards developing cheaper energy, more efficient cars/trucks, etc etc.

Just my .02 worth.
