Gauging an x-jet

I just bought an m-jet, adjustable x-jet. How do I gauge my proportion when using the x-jet without inserts? I have a Karcher running 3200 psi at 5.2 gpm. Do I simply drain a 5 gal bucket of water for 15 seconds and see how many gallons of water I've sucked up times 4 then divide that into 5.2.

Example: I draw up .65 gal in 15 seconds, times 4 = 2.6 gpm. 5.2/2.6 = 2:1 water to solution. Do you have immediate knowledge of the ratio or should I try this method?

Why Not Use The Inserts?

I do not get it. They work very well.

To me they are a reall hassle to keep track of and then to change on the fly. I will use a gutter cleaner and then a house wash which both have different dilution rates. Changing the orifice is a time consuming delay to me. I'm thinking of getting another x-jet so I can both set up for a particular chemical. Unless I can find a better solution.

It's not worth the 5 seconds to change out the proportioner to save yourself $150 or so? You could just adjust your gutter mix to work with the house wash proportioner or vice versa. I'd rather mix one bucket of really strong chem and carry that instead of making multiple buckets up to avoid using the proportioners.

I don't know what the replies are referring to but I have discovered the ratio that I needed. The x-jet at 5 gpm without an insert has a 2:1 ratio. Thanks for your interest.
