General Pump

Due to supply problems for our primary pump (Wheatley) we are in the process of changing to a General TSF 2221.

Would like anyone to comment on what we should expect from this pump as far as repairs, performance, etc. What spare parts should we keep on hand? What operating problems should we expect? We will be using a Baird by-pass relief valve rather than a standard unloader.

We put the two pumps on the floor next to each other (picture attached). Wow it sure is little! This pump will run about 3-1/2 times faster than our old pump!

Thanks for your replies.

Thats one heck of a pully behind that old pump of yours Dave:)

IF what you have is anything like the TS2021 You should be in good shape.

I guess I cant answer your whole question.I can only speculate on the parts . Check valves and seal kit, would be the 2 main ones to keep on hand. Not sure on price difference compared to the ts2021. I could find out for `ya if you dont get an answer.

How many hours are you guys getting on valves and seals? How much should we expect to pay for these parts?

Dan S,

Yes the pulley is very large. Motor runs at 1750 but the Wheatley pump only runs at 485 rpm. It is hard to believe this little pump is going to give us 10 gpm @ 3000 psi!

Here is another picture from the side. Look at the shaft size difference! We are making changes to accept the small pump but if the parts (fluidend) become available for the Wheatley and the General does not work for us we will be able to change back without too much of a problem.
