Getting it together

I'm purchasing all my equipment within the next couple of weeks.
16'x12' tandem trailer, 500 gal main tank, 325 gal recovery tank, Intrepid washer 4.0 gpm/3000psi 15 hp Kohler engine,1.25 gal gas tank cap. May not use the recovery tank right off. May not even get it until I find out if I really need it. Is this setup sufficient for a sort of "all purpose" business?
The alternative washer is slightly bigger: Intrepid, 5.6 gpm/3000psi, 18 hp engine, 5 gal gas tank cap.
Both units are bolted onto the floor of the trailer.

You'd be surprised what difference you would get from the "slightly larger" machine. That aditional1.6 gpm can make you 50% fatser. If you are going be doing residential work where you have a good municipal water supply you will be very happy that you chose the higher flow machine.

I agree with Ken, the 5.6 gpm unit will clean much quicker than the 4 gpm. If you are going with a 500 gal. water tank you may think about even more gpm. You posted that you are getting a 16x12 trailer, I haven't seen a trailer that wide yet.Is it a enclosed or open trailer? What kind of truck do you have to pull it with?

Sorry for the typo. It's 7 wide. Thanks for the advice. The larger unit is only $1000 more. I'll get it!
I'm pulling it w/my 1/2 ton dodge. I know what you're thinking. It gets pretty sorry mileage right now, and pulling all that stuff will make it worse. Plus, that'll be hard on a drivetrain. I'm already looking at a 1 ton dually, so hopefully I can save my dodge from a painful death.
It's an open trailer.
