The bad news is: You cannot just trot down to your local hardware store, pick up a brass fitting and throw it on your 3000 psi rig. You must find a local dealer or catalog and order the stainless steel pieces that ARE rated for your equipment (series 304 stainless doesn't necessarily mean 3000 rated).
The good news is: If you will take my word for it on this issue, you won't have to find out the way I did, that this is a, at the least, very bad idea, and at the worst, extremely dangerous when that thin-walled fitting gives up the ghost.
All you vets out there, go ahead and laugh (or cringe), I know you've been there too.
A word to the wise is sufficient.
