Good news, Bad news - to Newbies from a Newby

The bad news is: You cannot just trot down to your local hardware store, pick up a brass fitting and throw it on your 3000 psi rig. You must find a local dealer or catalog and order the stainless steel pieces that ARE rated for your equipment (series 304 stainless doesn't necessarily mean 3000 rated).

The good news is: If you will take my word for it on this issue, you won't have to find out the way I did, that this is a, at the least, very bad idea, and at the worst, extremely dangerous when that thin-walled fitting gives up the ghost.

All you vets out there, go ahead and laugh (or cringe), I know you've been there too.

A word to the wise is sufficient.

Hello Mark,

Hope nobdy was hurt! The only ss fittings we use are quick connects on our hose, guns, wands. We use brass fittings and 300psi hose anywhere on the intake side of our pumps. Outlet side is another story, need to use fittings rated above the pressure you are putting out. Live and learn, just don't get hurt!
