Gum Shadows

I searched but couldn't specifically find anything about removing gum shadows. PW'ing walks is a little out of my realm but I have a good trade-out job coming up and would like to remove the shadows as well. I once heard acetone but have never had the opportunity to try it. Any ideas?

Thanks - Tony

Tony,

I tried twice to send you Email and it comes back as no such address.

Would you send me your current Email address or post it here please.

Thanks Scott for helping him since I could not reach him.

This is for all,

I will take $500 plus shipping. If you are local we can play "let's make a deal" for the soda. I have 9 bags of it sitting doing nothing but gathering dust!

Call or Email me and lets talk. Send your phone number by Email and I will call you.

RIchard,

This is not the wand type you can stick in a bag of sand or soda, it is a tank type that you fill with soad, I would think you could use sand in it but the whole thing about soda is you do not need sweep it up as you do sand.

This is not the dry type system that David S. has, this works in conjunction with your pressure washer.

If I had a digatal camera I would post pictures of it, I will take a picture but need to shoot the whole roll of film so will be a few days.

This is like a new system since I did not even use a whole bag of soda with it. Case of the cart before the horse with me when I was still finding what I wanted to do in this business.

Comes with about 40 feet of feeder hose, the attachment, hopper which is on wheels.

Jon,
The reason why I was wondering. Someone told me that there was once a guy around my neck of woods who had a system that blasted both water and sand at the same time and that the water sand combination kept the sand from having to be swept up all the time.
This particular procedure must have been popular because I have had a few people ask me about it. I've also had those that told me if and when I get a system like that, they would have some jobs for me.
I just don't know about this kind of blasting and I'm afraid it will be to expensive for me.
I was just wondering if it was the soda blaster and people just thought it was sand.
Who knows. The guy has since left the area. They said he had it in the back of his travel trailer or Winnabago style vehicle. Wish I could find this guy.

Richard,

Keep in mind I am not an expert on sand and soda blasting but from what I have read and learned the two do not work together.

Sand for years was the best way to strip off paint and stuff, then soda came out then the EPA came in and said SAND is OUT.

I just cannot see the two working together, sand is heavier then soda so how would they mix in the hopper and be drawn out equally?

Soda does have its plus/minus as all cleaning compounds do but is considered safer.

I believe soda (media) is more costly by the bag but when you buy it by the pallet load cost comes way down. I do know there are different degree's or blends of it, from pure soda to synthetic and a mix of the two.
