Gutter Chems

So I looked at the msds for gutter zap. It's basically Sodium Hydroxide and Butyl. I know where I can buy both of these chems in raw form. Is there any reason I shouldn't mix them to the percentage shown on the Gutter Zap msds and make allowances for downstreaming with my 15:1 injector? If my math is right, it should be 2.5 gal butyl, 1.5 gal Sodium Hydroxide, and 1 gal water. This would make a 5 gal mixture at a cost to me of 30 bucks. I could downstream it, and it would hit the gutters at the same ratio as if I were to xjet gutter zap straight onto the gutter. The percentages on the msds were butyl 9%, SH 5%. I know butyl is a carcinogen. shouldn't I be fine with eye protection, gloves, and respirator?

Leave mixing to the Chemical companies
it is safer! There are likey other
ingredients not listed on the MSDS
surfactants etc. Many additives do
not require MSDS.

Can you offer me anything that will clean gutter streaks while downstreaming? I haven't heard of any such product. Just seems like it can be done. I could of course, be wrong.

For some reason, I wouldn't think that downstreaming would be the best method for cleaning gutters if you're having to use a true "gutter cleaner". As silly as it may sound, if we have to use a butyl based cleaner to get gutters clean, it's been faster for us to dunk a brush, slap the gutters and rinse like mad. Gutter cleaner is not great on a some surfaces, ie painted ones!

Don't take my word on this one since we do very few resi washes these days - maybe that's why the brush thing works for us.
