Hauling buckets of chems around

I plan on putting some 5 gallon buckets in racks on my pw trailer for the different chems I have to mix. My uncles Dairy Queen uses these nice buckets that come with a lid and a spout, just right to fit that little injector hose in.Do all the buckets have to have those hazmat looking stickers with the different colors on them. Say for instance if you have a 5 gallon bucket of a bleach mixture? By the way, a nice old fellow gave me the idea for the buckets in racks on the trailer!

Hi Kevin,

Don't know where you are getting your chems from, but if you buy them in 5ga buckets the appropriate info should be on them from the factory. What ever you do make sure those buckets are labled, sniffing lids is an unhealthy way of identifying chems!!!!!!

Kevin,

Don't know about where your at, but we are required by the feds to carry msds sheets of chemicals in our vehicles. This is also in addition to the buckets being labeled. The msds sheets have to be within arms reach and all together in a binder. When you buy the chemicals from whoever, you need to ask for msds sheets, and if you are getting them from home depot, you have to call a 1-800 number to have them sent or faxed. The number to Home Depot Msds department is 1-800-451-8346. You might already have know this.

Kevin,
You not only need to have the MSDS sheets with you but I also try to keep whatever the sheet lists as necessary for first aid handy.Certainly would hate to get sued should anyone decide my chemical was the cause of any malady that they had(or thought they had)and I wasn't prepared with the proper items. It doesn't hurt you (or your crew) to know how to respond in case the person happens to be you.

Those 5 gallon buckets come from my uncles Dairy Queen and they will be used for mixing soap and other stuff in. They're real nice and have a spout on them. The injector hose fits real nice in them. Theyre nice to have handy.
