Health Hazards

I was wondering what type of precaultions others are using when washing houses with a bleach mix.

I have been using : Two gal. of Clorox bleach
Two cups of liq. Tide
One good sqirt of liq. Cascade
And the rest water in a five gallon bucket

The back splash and the mist has been getting in my eyes and face, and when working in a confined area such as an enclosed porch the cloud vapor is being inhaled.
Is this a serious health matter of is it nothing to worry about.

Are others using Eye protection and a breathing resporator when
working. Shoud I start masking up...

Barry,

I personally do not wear eye protection, etc. when house washing. If you think you should, it sure won't hurt you! Might be uncomfortable on those 90 degree days though.........

I second what Mike said. Do what works best for you. You should always wear eye protection even though others don't. I have a problem seeing with eye protection on but if it doesn't bother you then definately wear it. As far as resperators I only wear one when I'm spraying stain/sealers on decks because of the constant vapors that are all around you when doing this. As far as cleaning houses I use pretty much use the same mix your talking about and I generally don't have a problem with breathing without a resperator on. But once again if it bothers you to much then you should probably look into wearing one.

Yep, I also agree. I use the same mixture and sometimes it gets pretty bad. The spray shoots back and hits me in the face plenty of times. I use to wear rain gear, hat, gloves and eye protection. Now, my uniform, underwear, socks and sneaks. :p
What ever makes you comfortable to work in. I at times will put on my hat when looking upward and ajust so that the spray hits it instead of my eyes.
