Hi Doug. Hope all is well with you in Texas.

It's been a while since I posted here or on other sites. Been busy with business and still trying to find the correct balance with work and family. Also, attempting to decipher which direction I want this business to go. Did some good work with a few decks, but not truly into them. Too many headaches. Residential is nice so far, but I want to begin venturing into commercial more with regularly scheduled cleanings instead of wondering where or what my next job will be.

How long or how many customers did it take until you started getting a steady amount of referrals from residential?

Pretty Much right off the bat. After assuring the customer was happy, I would ask them to call 2 friends/family members and refer me. Some did, some didn;t. But it was a numbers game and I asked every single one to do it

I do get referrals, but my problem is I don't come right out and ask for them. My family and I have always had a hard time asking anyone for anything. I'm not sure why. I guess it is just some sort of genetic Reider family trait. Of all of the things that can possibly hold my business back from growing faster, this is the biggest hurdle most of the time.
