Wiz,
I want to use a flo-jet pump for pumping acid onto tanker trailers. Can I hook up the downstrean injector into the backside of the flo-jet or will I have to pre-mix the acid in another tank for this to work?
Thanks,
Clent

Clinet, its faster to apply it with the downstreamer then it would the flo-jet.Don't think the flo-jet will work the downstreamer as you have in mind.Think you will need another chemical tank to draw from with the right mix.Or you can plumb into the one you have now if you still wanted to use the downstreamer plus the flo-jet to apply acid,by adding 1 Y (or T),1 T (or Y) plus 2 valves. One to meter chemical flow and one to meter water flow to the flo-jet.Do you like the downstreamer or are you having trouble getting the mix right or ?

Thanks for the reply Bigboy. The downstreamer works fine, I just thought it might work faster or better if I had another whole system to apply the acid. I currently have a ball valve on the Tee that comes out of the burner and it has started leaking again (can't take the pressure I suppose) and I thought I might as well just take it off and try something else. After reading your advise, I guess I'll just replace the ball valve and keep it like it is. I have an upstream injector and a downstream injector, which requires two hoses and if I keep this set-up, I am going to have to add another reel. This one , however, will only be a low pressure sprayer so it won't be TOO costly.
Thanks again for the advise.

Bigboy,
The downstream system is low pressure only so it came here with a coupling coming out of the burner so I could either plug up the high pressure side or the low pressure side. I got tired of having to turn the machine off and unhook and hook back up, so I put a T in the line at that point and then had to put a ball valve on the low side soas not to blow out the low pressure line

(acid injector).
I think it works alright

and like I've said before, I didn't know anywhere else in the world had ever even heard of a portable pressure washer until I found this BB, so I don't know how it compares to everyone else's machine.

You should not have to plug and unplug to work the downstreamer. Its best to control it with either letting off the trigger and changing tip size or roll over valve,,I like the duel lance, you should not have to shut the engine down to change from low psi to high psi.It sounds as tho your plumbed wrong if your having to shut down to change over to low psi to work the downstreamer.

Bigboy,
I'll try to draw a picture of what I'm talking about and send it to your e-mail. It sounds goofy as heck but works pretty well after a few alterations by me.

Clent, goofy is right, set up your down steam with pressure hose from burner going in, then the down stream injector setup, then your hose on the other side.

All you ever have to do is what Bigboy said, change nozzle tips.

Other then adjusting your mix ratio you should be in business and not have to shut down at all.

Never used dual lance but have nozzle holders, just twist to change nozzles.

There is another one which you only twist the head but don't know if it is a gimmick or something good.

I will try to send a picture of mine to you Clent, or post it here.

Boy, I just keep gettin deeper and deeper. Let me try this one more time. I have an upstream injector on the pump, on the down side of the burner, I have a downstream injector with a low pressure hose attached. This one is for the acid, so I don't have to run the acid through the pump and burner and the hose reel. When it was built, Hancock Equipment put a quick couple coming out of the burner so I could change from the high pressure hose and run the acid w/o going through all the high-dollar stuff. After a few trucks, I decided to put a T and a ball valve on the outlet side of the acid injector(downstream) so instead of uncoupling, I could leave it hooked up and just turn it off to use the high pressure hose. I know this still sounds goofy, but if ya'll will just jump on your Lear Jets (every company should have one) and come on down to Mississppi, I'll show you how it works and maybe ya'll can give me a pointer or two on some other stuff.
