I cleaned and sealed a deck with wolman cedar toner last October . The customer just told me that a path has been worn where they walk. Any suggestions on what to do ? I orinally suggested a clear sealant because of the traffic.(5 kids) They wanted the cedar. I appreciate any input on what I should do .
Thanking you in advance.

Rob, if you warned them about the tracking that occurs when there is alot of foot traffic on a stain then you should not feel bad about it. I would let them know that you would be glad to come out and restain that area again for them at your normal rate per sq ft. And continue to provide that service for them each time they need it.

Rob,

I have no experience with Wolmans, but I would think you would want to do the entire floor or the entire deck. I guess the rails, etc dont need it, but I would think it would not look right unless you cleaned and sealed the entire floor. Good luck.

Robbie,
If the areas not that large (I'm thinking of cost of the stain) you could try reappling in just the worn area, and if it doesn't satisfy the customer then just clean and restain the whole thing. I probably wouldn't charge for the spot work, just do it out of good will. I would also explain to the customer what thier options were.

You said it could be a problem?
You did right! At most - suggest a 10 or 15 percent discount to do the floor over. Just remember to protect the railings from the stripper!
Good Luck!
