A Brass QC and a stainless steel plug will last longer than a stainless steel QC and stainless steel plug or a Brass QC and Brass plug.

I got a chance to watch this guy wash a trk.

How in the world can anybody do it with a straight lance and hard plumbed into the gun. he had to move his arms all over the place to get the results he was after.
I asked him why in the world would you want to wash like that. I gave him a 1/4'' stainless swivel and hooked it up to his gun for him. and a 3/8'' swivel at the end of the gun so his hose did'nt look like a bowl of noodels.
I think he thought he hit the lottery.

I guess if `ya dont know You dont know!!

I wonder why that is. Any ideas?

I would guess that it's because the steel is stronger and can hold up to more of the twisting and spinning without causing ridges in it. The female coupling has bearings in it so it's usually not under the strain. They usually have problems when dirt get's into the ball bearings.

Your right it is heavy but you do get used to it. I tried to get a 500 bar Tee valve to cut down on the weight when I first tried to toy with it but I couldn't get the right configuration to work so I had to stick with two valves. I guess the weight is a trade for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome without the trigger. I wanted to instead of this idea, use a dual lance and remove the low pressure tube and use it as a dump, but it wore out after 1 day for some reason it wouldn't hold the pressure at 8GPM. So I gave up on this.

Heres a pic of the 15,000 psi @ 25 ish GPM guns these are heavy.............. 1/2" stainless barrels. You have to wrap the 8 braid hose around your leg just to keep it under control.
The gun with the longer rotojet(Black) on the JP047 is for the ultra high at 40,000 psi at 3-4GPM.
When it's fired up it it chews concrete into sand and screams like an Alison Racing engine.
The normal 15,000 psi rotojets cost $3-4 k each but you can replace the nozzles in these.

The Aquamat tank cleaning head runs at about $40 K this one runs 15,000 psi @ 45 GPM pushed by a 380 HP CAT and a Hamellman pump. We use this for non entry vessel cleaning such as formaldehyde, phenolic, and PVC resin tanks. It's pretty cool EEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSSYYYYY money you set it up on a pole inside the tank ( Some of these range between 2 - 10 stories high)and lower it every 20 minutes.

Yeah I do,think it has something to do with the balls, brass balls aren't as hard as stainless steel balls.Brass balls beating on a stainless steel plug cann't burr the steel as bad as stainless steel balls beating on stainless steel __________________.

Several years ago I went with all stainless steel QC's and plugs but in time and error I've found the brass QC's last as long as the stainless steel QC's and noticed the brass didn't burr the stainless steel plugs as bad as the stainless steel QC's did.

I do not oil or grease mine, change a o-ring now and then but seem to last forever,I clean them with soapy water.Dirt what locks alot of them up,oil and grease collects dirt and by the time the balls beat it into every crack as tight as they can they haven't got any room to move around anymore so they lockup.

Wouldn't give you the time of day for a swivel

DaMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I bet 45gpm would clean a wood deck fast as hell...LOL

It would probably clean it right off the house!

Hey, Herny or Bob.
I took you guys suggestion and installed a 3/8 swivel on my trigger gun and when I fire up the machine, the pressure does not alow the swivel to "swivel ". The hose is still twisting up. When I turn the machine off the and there is no pressure on the hose the swivel works just fine. Did I install it wrong or what is the deal here? Bad swivels purchased from e-spec or improper installation? I also purchased the 1/4" swivels but did not install yet.

Hey Degra,

I'd contact the manufacturer, I've got swivels on both sides of my gun so that I can also twist the lance and I've never had a problem like this with either of mine.

The swivel will only work when you pull the trigger in the gun with a pressure actuated unloader, but with a flow actuated unloader it should swivel all the time. Maybe you bought the wrong type of swivel- there is ones desingned for the free action of the hose, and there are ones used for joining the hose which are twist swivels (couplers). An example of the are in the photos of the open gun. The hose swivel is between the gun and the twist coupler. In the case of the gun in the photo it has a built in swivel as well.
Hope this helps.

Cat, Next time you try and give advice negatively, Please read the ENTIRE POST FIRST.

[hello] My question had nothing to do with changing wands. I was having an issue with the hose tangling up as I was doing my jobs and from reading past post, was informed to use this swivel devise.

Thank you anyhow
