historic buildings

hello to all, been a while since I have posted any threads, work is flat out at the moment.
Just went out to quote an historic registered building which requires cleaning. We have been doing a number of such dwellings over the past year, all have been stone products, usually bluestone, but this is a brick structure with a very soft mortar (you can wipe it out with your fingers).
The building has mainly pollution staining on the higher sections.
Any ideas as to what chemicals and/or methods should be tried? The previous structures only needed a light soaping with a medium pressure clean, but this one is a different ball game as the 'Historical Society' need to know methods and chemicals to be used before any work can be carried out, so I need to know before giving a price out.
Any help/comments would be greatly appreciated.

I feel certain that SunBrite would have your chemicals. If you required a more specialized treatment that our sponsors don't keep in general stock, there are a couple of very good restoration product companies who make chems especially for historic restorations. If I get the okay from the bbs, I'll post names :) You obviously know already about the gentle gentle pressure if your mortar is that crumbly. Sealing would almost be a must in order to preserve further degradation.
