Try looking for an Wisconsin (old school). These power plants will run forever and are industrial. The Hondas are good but they are a little weak in the tourque department. See under constant load of the washer pump these engines don't get to freewheel like the lawn side. They are under constant load, thus you will get bad fuel economy.

Also you could look for the smaller Diesels single cylindar. Picked up a small 10hp no name brand for $300.00 last season. Replacesd a 18hp vanguard. Lost a rod. The engine has saved me 4-5 times the cost of the engine in the season. Sure it might be smelly and noisy under full load but for general usage they are great. Just a option.
