Cody,

Funny you said antique, it got me thinking how old is that thing? If I told you less than year you probably think I abuse my equipment. I truth is I use my equipment. That’s a good thing, no expensive chrome or diamond plated tool boxes. Its paid for and its mine
:p :D :)

I use steel eagle reels 4 years never a problem. I got 400 feet on my high pressure reel,200 feet on my low pressure reel. not sure how much they cost now, but they have been a very good investment

One of my hose reels, if it comes out here. I know it is not really clear but it does show fairly well. Anyone know how to make it clearer?

I liked them then, I like them Now
I like when they come up in the post. I prefer the hannays also. These are fine reels and probably priced well. most of the major brands are all about the same.

Our best selling hose reels are from Hydro Tek, and Steel Eagle.
Both use the Super swivel on most of their reels.

IMHO Super Swivel is the best hose reel swivel.

We have them on sale this month!

I am partial to Coxreels and Reel Quick / Rapid Reels,
we sell both lines and have had good reports on both.

There are other good ones out there but I prefer these.

What he said. One of my Coxreels died. I would have thought it would last for more than 20+ years. The other cox is still going strong @ 25 years.

Have a cox double stack. The Locking pin last about 6 months. Brake contantly needs adjusting. If they could change that theyw ould be great. Going to Hannay next.

I suggest you go with Steel Eagle reels

These have been very trouble free reels
for us.

Are there any reels that won't crush in the middle even if you turn them on and off hot and mostly rolled up on the reel?

Please don't suggest that we cool down the water or roll the hose out all the way. It's cheaper to keep buying reels than to waste that much time on jobs. Some of our jobs take less than 5-10 minutes and we can't afford to double our time just to save a reel.

That's why I'm asking if anybody makes reels that can take that kind of abuse for 10-20 years.

I have an electric Hannay Reel for 4 or 5 years now, bought it used and the only thing I had to do to it is clean the wire connections and replace the super swivel in the past 4 or 5 years.

I want to buy some Hannay Reels to replace the cheaper reels I bought but have to save up for them but they will last many, many years.

Mark, the Steel Eagle reel that is pictured with the black metal base, do you have prices/sizes for that one? I have heard some great things about the Steel Eagle reels like that one.

Chris,

The black base is actually a composite base, I was skeptical about
that years ago but I have never seen one break. As far as price the MSRP
of the K01-0106-1 (stainless)which is our best seller of Steel Eagle reels is $401.
I just did a Google search and our price is significantly lower that any I
found on the web.[hello]

I will e-mail you a price, manufacturers do not encourage price wars.

I have one of those :)

We have three of those manual steel eagle reels too. They also crush in the middle so I have them as feed reels and on one cold water machine. I guess we are just too hard on them.
