Will hot water at high pressure harm asphalt?

It can, yes. Both things would work against you. The hot water would overly soften the asphalt and the h.p would gouge or tear it up.

That's precisely what I had worked out in my "steel trap" of a mind.LOL
I guess I had better stay away from that.

Not to disagree with Ken but, Asphault can be cleaned but you need to be real careful. The substance varies a lot. I have cleaned paint off asphault with hot water and a turbo nozzle. I have also tried to clean it with a 40 fan nozzle and damaged it.

Still, I think it's best I stay away from it at least until I get some experience. It's such a small area around here, screw something up and within a week, the whole county will know.
