i did a search but couldnt really find anything to help me out a whole lot. can someone tell me why hot water is better than cold water.

does it make the driveway look better?
does it remove oil stains and set in dirt/mold.
will it eat away paint on houses
does it do the job quicker, by cleaning the concrete faster
is it worth the extra $1000 when i am mainly doing driveways

i own a lawncare buinsess and pressure wash driveways and houses as an add-on to my buisness, i really like pressure washing but i have invested way to much money in my lawncare buisness to switch jobs.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you really have to ask that question? Why do people prefer hot water when washing dishes? Washing clothes? Why should you wash your hands with hot water instead of cold?
Answer: Because it cleans better!

Hot water alone has better cleaning capabilities than cold water. Hot water also gives your chemicals an extra oomph :) The decision whether to buy hot or cold comes down more to what you'll be washing. If you are doing wood restoration only, you'll never need hot or high psi, only lots of gpms. If you're doing commercial flatwork, hot will be a huge benefit.

I think that Q'tion is the funniest Q'tion asked in this trade,a mother, girlfriend or wife could answer that Q'tion easy.Would I need a swingblade or 4 billygoats to cut my grass? it and they would do the same thing as a lawncare professional.

• yes
• yes
• It could

• yes, especially of you are doing flat work (if your flatwork is only little residential driveways, then no. You aren't going to make any money so you would just have more gear to sell next year)

thanks pressurepros, and caroli you are the only people who actually care about answering someones question instead of waisting your time trying to make fun of me for no apparent reason.

the question i asked was a reasonable question, im about to spend a couple thousand dollars upgrading this section of my buisness and wanted to know the facts about hot water before i went out and spent that type of money.

I wasn't making fun of you,I said that is one of the funniest Q'tion ask on this forum. The only time I seen wasted was when I clicked on the thread Hotwater vs cold water, its a Q'tion a 6 year old or maybe 10 year old would ask.I can understand why they would ask a Q'tion like that but for a business owner to ask "why" is hot better than cold is mind blowing to me.I offened wonder if the people asking that Q'tion has their hotwater heater unpluged at home and if it was worth buying.

Type in "hotwater" in the search button and you will find more than you think, maybe even another thread like yours. You will also find hotwater is one of the best chemicals you'll ever buy......I'm still not making fun of you but I'm the type that cann't handle taking cold showers burrrr.

I wasn't making fun, either. I was serious. There's an old saying that goes "the only stupid questions are those that don't get asked." True enough. If you don't know something, then the only logical thing to do is to find out, or risk costing yourself lots of $$$$, not to mention a great deal of embarassment.
That being said, I wasn't on this planet more than 5 yrs or so before I discovered that hot water is much more effective than cold when it comes to getting something---anything clean. I'm with Larry when I say a grown man getting ready to start a cleaning business should know certain things.

I was unaware of just how much a differance hot water would make to cleaning concrete......until I tried one.(I had never had the benefit on any kind of bb at that point, all trial and error) The differance is huge. Not even worth the lengthy typing to explain. Everyone else has given the examples, from cold showers and so on. Go ask your distributor to rent you one, if you buy, you don't pay the rental bill.

If you think you can get enough work to justify it is the real question??????

Obviously there is a substanial reason that so many have the hot water units. Extra stuff to cart around, protect,maintain.....

And don't take being slammed personaly. A lot of us have had it done to us. Sometimes it's funny to go back and reread what we said. But thats why we come here. To learn and sometimes have a laugh at what is being said. Even if its about you/me.

i know that hot water cleans better when it comes to everyday tasks, but i wasnt sure if it had the same effect on concrete.
