Sounds like you are lying about something here. I went back & read all of your post.

So, How do you do Tile Roofs? Always use chlorine. Never use chlorine?

You say you know things but have only been at this for a short amount of time. I tend to agree with a post that washerman left for you re: not knowing what you were talking about when pointing fingers to others.

You said that “others in the area are cutting throats with below normal prices†how do you know this when you have only been at it for a month? By your requesting assistance on pricing, & posting too low of pricing, that you are considering it’s plainly obvious that you haven’t a clue what to charge, right or wrong!

You say that others are charging too low, that you are quoting 10 cent sqft yet on a “Possible Big Jobâ€, as you put it, you quote to the board that the units are 2500-3000 sqft & you are pondering $100 a pop, plus $10 for “etc†whatever etc is

You need to work on your grammar. Trying to read your post is a bit difficult. Example:
In your “p/washing job†post you may have lost me or everyone else because of your poor grammar, sentence structure & lack of information.

Most people said that was normal. I tend to disagree. However I may easily be wrong because of your grammar & lack of probable necessary information. I would define this as, the person that came to you about these 128 stations was a contractor and not an Official of the company with the 128 stations. If this is the case, yes you would need to worry, a lot. If the person was an Official Representative for the properties then yes, you still worry, but not as much, you just get a good contract. BTW, that's most-likely too much for you to handle

People here have no psychic ability to read in what you are leaving out, except for maybe me. Try using a comma, apostrophe a cap to start a new sentence & a little more thought when writing it out. I’m not trying to say you need to write perfect or that all grammar errors will be death, we all make “emâ€, in more ways than one. Just try to look & sound a little more literate, if you lack the education, go get some night classes. Bottom line though on the 128 stations, I figure that either, A) someone is just yankin your chain! or B) you’re lying about it.

You come here & ask others for prices. That’s pretty dumb. Go here to get a general jist of what I am talking about. That post was written a little specific to someone else & their scenario, however it applies to just about everything.

Yes, I bet you would “ LOVE ALL THE INFO you CAN GET FROM the EXPERTSâ€. Perhaps we could just pop down your way & clean them for you too! What he hell, from what I have read in your post, you want us to price them for you, tell you who to call, tell you who to do biz with, & tell you what chemicals & equipment to use.

Like I said, “sounds like you are lying hereâ€. Thus you are trying to attain information via deceit. Thus, I don’t think that you are going to make a very nice addition to this neighborhood nor profession Why would I, or anyone, want to help someone build a business who can’t even be forthcoming & straight-up about things here on the forums. One has to wonder what you would say to a customer to get a job!

Hmm, Maybe you’re the guy that did that wall!?

On the off chance that you're not lying at least have the decency to try to better convey what you are trying to say, making it easier on those who would help. Also so that cynical people like me won't think that others are just helping another moron to become yet another amongst the rapidly growing list of the dumbrump lowballers that are my, and everyone elses, competitors!

Since you're working in Palm Beach County, I can't give you all the info you ask for and then have you compete directly with the people we have working there. But I can give you some advice to help you avoid making some serious mistakes:

1) Before you work on the roof, make sure you have a license and insurance to do so.

2) You can clean a roof from the ground, but most require some walking in order to get them done quickly. Using extension wands and ladders are safer for you, but they add a lot of time onto the job.

3) Get yourself an x-jet, but do not use it for spraying bleach on the roof. The overspray and runoff will kill everything around the house.

4) Get some help. You should never work alone if you are on the roof. When an accident does happen, you need someone on the ground that can help quickly.

5) Call a few of the roof cleaners in your area and talk with them about pricing, methods, marketing, and territories. Some of them will be more than willing to help you if they can be assured that you won't be working in their areas and undercutting them on bids as soon as they explain everything to you.

Roof-A-Cide is very effective, but be prepared to spend at least $7,000 to get into the program and at least $2,000 on marketing in the first couple of months.

I hope this helps.
