How to build pressure washer?

I had a fleeting thought about building my own pressure washer using commercially available parts.

Anythoughts on the subject? Anyone out there have any suggestions?

The washer I build (am thinking of building) would be used primarily for fleet washing.

Any ideas on type, gpm, pressure of pump to use?

Thanks for the help.

First get out your check book. Sign a bunch of blank checks. Give the checks to several different vendors and you may end up with something like our main unit

Everything on it is commercially available!!

We are just finishing a major upgrade/rebuild of this unit, mainly new boiler (1,100,000 Btu)and water storage tank (1000 gallon stainless steel). Yes we do vehicle fleets among other things with this equipment.

We run three wands, one low pressure for soap application the other two high pressure to rinse hot or cold up to 9 gpm.

If you like I can send you spec's of this equipment.

You can make your own unit if you know how to do all of the jury rigging. I always recommend General Pump. They make Some 6 plunger two head pumps. General 6 Plunger Pump
