How to make a Homemade X-Jet

Hey all,

I was making what i thought would work for a cheap x-jet using a 3 way. My problem was the water came rushing down the chemical inlet and down into the chemical bucket. I tried using a ball valve also. First letting the pressure go out the front and slowly opening it but to no avail. Whats the secret to making a good copy?

Thanks.

Dont, Just buy one. Sounds like the time you already have invested could have been better spent by just buying one. Not trying to bust your bubble, But time is money......

It is worth thinking about, considering an xjet costs $150.

But I have to admit, they do work nice.

Mark P. the concept that makes it work is a venturi tube. This allows you to pass straight thru a certain quantity of liquid and draw in from a side port another liquid. That is the same for the down stream injector that Larry mentioned. The design of the venturi is the key to making it work and determining how much of the side liquid will be drawn in. You can probably do a search on the internet for "venturi tube" and get some leads as to how to build one. Most are made in at least two parts, screwed together, to allow the inner design to be machined out of the metal to create the suction on the side liquid. Not impossible for you to build, but it does take the knowledge and the machinery to build. Good luck.
