Well, if you really wanted to put them in mailboxes, you could slap a stamp on it........I'm sure he wouldnt care then.

Mike,
From now on I'll call the customer with the estimate instead of mailing it.If I don't I will surely lose a lot of business.I usually just place it in the mailbox but they don't want anyone even touching the mailbox.I have actually gotten a call for an estimate and showed up an hour later and there was someone already cleaning the deck so I really don't have time for the postal system to do it's thing.

With all the stuff that has been going around, my advice for anyone is meet the people and give them the estimate in person, fax it to them, or call them to let them kno what the price is going to be. Very few times will I send them a estimate. Personally I like to meet them in person. Another thought when doing direct mail put your name on it otherwise they might not open it. If you insist on doing a estimate with out them being there go by and look at it then call them up to discuss on when they can meet with you to go over what you looked at, if they insist on wanting to kno the price right away, tell them and don't back down on the price. You got the what they want that is why they called you. Sorry to ramble on.

Mailboxes

I wonder if the mail advertising will ever be the same again as it once was because of all the anthrax scares. I realy hate the thought of people being afraid of their mail of all things. Hopefully in time things will go back to somewhat normal.

Just my thoughts

That's why I use postcards as my main direct mail ads.I used to have them printed but now I just do it myself.
90 lb. paper goes through the printer fine and I can actually print the name and address on the card as opposed to lables.can send 1000 cards for $250 everything included.postcards pose no threat and my return address is on all of them.Plus since they do not have to be opened, people reading them as opposed to throwing them away is much more likely. And most of all they work!!!

Given all the anthrax scares, and the heightened fear and alert among postal workers, I can see their point. I would let it roll off my back, and just do something different. Stick it in the crack between the frame of the door and the door.....just an idea.

FYI...it has always been against the law to place anything INSIDE the mailbox.

;) good luck to you!

I got nailed last year for flyering mailboxes. I would put flyers on the flag. Post office called me and threatened legal action. Quit doing it - ad in paper much easier, cost effective, and more business than I could handle.
