Go door knocking. Major contract builders like to keep certain contractors around to do their work. If you get in with the right building conractor you can stay busy just with one company. I used to work for one that would send me cross country to clean their movie theatres. Not because I was the cheapest and I am not going to say the best, they just knew me and knew I would get the job done.I only stopped doing this last year, because after 3 and 1/2 years of it my wife was beginning to forget what I looked like. lol
My suggestion is to hit the building contractors in your area. Most welcome bids from you(at least the ones I used to deal with). Main thing to remember with this type of work is when they want you on the job, be on the job. When they want the job complete, make sure it is complete if it is possible for it to be complete. I know that all sounds easy, but reliability is what I found was key for me getting the jobs.

Just a word to the wise. Watch out for payment on the new construction jobs, when times are getting slow. Back in the 80's here in Texas thats where alot of good people got burned. Accounts receivable got too big and when the contractors went under they took alot of folks with um.
Get it in writing, if not payed file a lien.
