Insurance problem

Well it looks like we are going to start our business in about a couple months.Been a bad year for the family, lost aunt and mother in law so we put things on hold.
The problem is the insurance co.wants $2500 for $500,000 liability,I think that's a little steep but if I was going to do this full time it wouldn't bother me as much.
I go to work a 1pm,some days a 10:30am so I only have some mornings to do this business. I work weekends and do the racing thing at a local track so weekends are out.
We(wife/I)are going to wash houses.
Havn't bought any equipment yet because of this insurance issue.
Looked this up on the search, called the companies I saw but they will not handle a michigan bus.
Any idea for insurance in mi.? Would like one based out of mi.just feel better.

That seems like a lot but you probably have better insurance than I have. I got mine through Erie and do not remember exactly how much coverage I have but it is basic and $500 deductible. I pay $286/yr and I am a sole proprieter.
