In January I will be renewing my insurance. Does anyone know of a good Insurance Company that deals in p/w companies. I was going to shop around but there isn't many companies that responded to my request. I am a Owner only operation with 1 mil. per occurance. aggregate 2 mil. per occurance.
$1000.00 deductable. Presently pay $875.00 yearly. I guess that is fair compared to the few quotes I received.

When comparing insurance quotes you need to look at your own sales or payroll. That is what they base your premium on, and that’s why they audit you every year to make sure they are charging you the most that they can. So when someone brags about their $500 - $600 policy, chuckle cause you know they are not doing a lot of business.

They asked me how much I wanted and gave me a price. I added an umbrella policy and they added to the premium, but they have never audited me and I have been with them for 4 years now.

insurance quotes

Thanks I guess My Ins. Co. is in the ballpark. I am not a major player in the industry, part timer for about the last 4 years. Just trying to make a living.

Below I'm pasting an ad run on Craigs List in the Bay Area. I imagine there's a similar company or consortium in the Sunshine State. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if they network with each other so you might just give Sorci a call and see where they point you. If nothing else they should be a solid barometer for pricing. Good luck.

Let Sorci Commercial Insurance Services provide the best rates possible for your Pressure Washing Business. American Family is pretty reasonable - especially if you add W/C as well. Make sure they don't categorize you under "Roofers" - you will have a heart attack when they give you that quote...

Audit Experience

I would like to hear more from people regarding the insurance audits. I started a policy last January for $810 at the minimum rate of $15,000 gross income. My agent is now saying that they are going to audit me and I will owe thousands more because I made way more than $15,000.

What has been your experience with audits? Do they ask for a tax return, or just go with what you say? It sounds like some companies here have not had to produce any proof when it came audit time.

The insurance companies "Exposure" for liability is based
upon your gross receipts / gross sales, the higher the gross
receipts/ sales the more exposure the insurance company has.

Your agent should have cautioned you that your premium is
based upon gross receipts.

Be prepared to pay.

Insurance coverage

Ok if your premiums go up because of the growth of your business, does your coverage go up as well?? like fire ins..etc..Or does it stay at the same coverage ,say 2000,000..Because if it doesnt then your the one takeing all the risk because of growth in your company..The Ins. Co is Robbing you..You could end up doing 5 restaurant at 2000,000 and 150 at 2000000 and paying Example dont really know but 1500 a year to as high as 25000 a year for the same 2000000 in coverage.. The Ins. risk, money wise stays the same regardless.... Well I really dont dought it though...Between Ins. Co. and lawyers, their all crooks...

Insurance Company Game

You'll get a better rate if your a cleaning service company versus saying something like: "I'm in the power washing business and I spray high pressure water at angles rain water might not normally run."

I own a cleaning company. Sure, occasionally I might power wash while I am cleaning other things. The forumla is based on gross profit but, includes a risk factor. Anytime you reduce the risk the lower the rate will become.

Hope this helps lower your bill!

Joe Walters has been writing power washing insurance for decades. Rates are reasonable. When looking for coverage, make certain they know what you're doing or you won't be covered! Don't try to fib your way out of premiums - come claim time, everything you paid will be down the potty because you don't have the proper wording.

DJ,

Do you have a "care custody & control" clause? If not, that $700 isn't covering WHAT you're washing, just anything you're around.
