maybe it's my server it cant be my computer it's brand-new.......but then again maybe it's just meeeeeeeeee

but i tryed to log on and holy cow it takes forever to either post a reply or answer a question......

i dont seem to have a problem with any other site .......on the www........
just wondering if it's just me or does anybody else have this problem???????????????

I log on at my office which is "white lighten" fast and out here in my job trailer which is "month sundays slow" but really dont' have a problem with the speed of the site.

Every now and then all Internet sites will get slow from time to time. But for the most part things have been pretty fast.

It could be a bad connection, phone line, ISP or a number of things. Like Walt said. I have a newer and old computer. One has a 28k and the other 56k modems.

They both are pretty quick, depending on the Internet that day. However I lived in an apt when I first moved to Texas. The phone line their would only give me 23k. When I moved to my home I get 53k from the phone line.

Hey Dan.... Time to spend some of that $$$$$ and go with a cable modem. It was the best thing I did last year. I don't know how we did without it. We have Comcast@home here. Try it, you'll like it.... Don.

Hey Dan send me 20,000 and I'll get the copper wire off'en your line.

Think I'm fixing to go with the dish and get away from the lines.

I still haven't found my problem,will replace fan and see what happens tho.

Every test I run it says NO PROBLEMS FOUND

,even run test on web but still NO PROBLEMS FOUND

,makes me want a hard drink and I don't even drink hard

We have had Comcast @ Home cable on our iMac at home since August, at first it was unbelievably fast, we were one of the first in our neighborhood to hook up with them, the last couple of months it has slowed down terribly, one of the pitfalls of a cable modem is that if you have a lot of people in your area that are also online simultaneously with the same cable company your service will be much slower.

Usually around 4:30 to 7

o pm M-F when people are getting home and checking their e-mail etc. the connection slows down, it really picks up after 10:00 pm.

I am told that DSL through a phone line is more consistent?

just my 2 cents worth.

Has anyone gone with the wireless yet,,dish.

They say its 100 times faster then the phone line and cable,also its cheaper in my area then the extra phone line plus net cost.As soon as I can or get around to it I'm going with the dish.

DSL thru a phone line is a dedicated line for your Pc only,like your telephone, where cable is not dedicated to you everybody shares the same line so the more people that get cable the slower it is going to be, they are both about the same price per month but for the cable you have to have a cable modem which is extra. and DSL is faster so if you can i would get DSL. more consistant your always hooked at the same speed. just my .02

we dont even have cable T.V.......we live way out in the sticks when i look out my windows the only thing i see is woods......... animals, MOTHER NATURE,,

it takes 1/2 hour to make it into town...10 mins if i take the motorbike...............

i think it's my hick time server and it only seems to do it @ night when boss hogg is serfing the net........
